Existence of multiple solutions for Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems
In this paper, based on variational methods and critical point theory, we guarantee the existence of infinitely many classical solutions for a two-point boundary value problem with fourth-order Sturm-Liouville equation; Some recent results are improved and by presenting one example, we ensure the applicability of our results.
متن کاملPositive Solutions for Singular Sturm-Liouville Boundary Value Problems with Integral Boundary Conditions
In this paper, we study the second-order nonlinear singular Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems with Riemann-Stieltjes integral boundary conditions −(p(t)u(t)) + q(t)u(t) = f(t, u(t)), 0 < t < 1, α1u(0)− β1u (0) = ∫ 1 0 u(τ)dα(τ), α2u(1) + β2u (1) = ∫ 1 0 u(τ)dβ(τ), where f(t, u) is allowed to be singular at t = 0, 1 and u = 0. Some new results for the existence of positive solu...
متن کاملFrom blow-up boundary solutions to equations with singular nonlinearities
In this survey we report on some recent results related to various singular phenomena arising in the study of some classes of nonlinear elliptic equations. We establish qualitative results on the existence, nonexistence or the uniqueness of solutions and we focus on the following types of problems: (i) blow-up boundary solutions of logistic equations; (ii) Lane-Emden-Fowler equations with singu...
متن کاملThe Uniqueness Theorem for the Solutions of Dual Equations of Sturm-Liouville Problems with Singular Points and Turning Points
In this paper, linear second-order differential equations of Sturm-Liouville type having a finite number of singularities and turning points in a finite interval are investigated. First, we obtain the dual equations associated with the Sturm-Liouville equation. Then, we prove the uniqueness theorem for the solutions of dual initial value problems.
متن کاملAnalytic solutions for the Stephen's inverse problem with local boundary conditions including Elliptic and hyperbolic equations
In this paper, two inverse problems of Stephen kind with local (Dirichlet) boundary conditions are investigated. In the first problem only a part of boundary is unknown and in the second problem, the whole of boundary is unknown. For the both of problems, at first, analytic expressions for unknown boundary are presented, then by using these analytic expressions for unknown boundaries and bounda...
